Hourly Chauffeur vs. Point-to-Point for Bay Area Meetings
Choose the service around the schedule
The most useful question when arranging a day of meetings is whether you need a ride to an address or a chauffeur available throughout the day. A single transfer and a sequence of appointments call for different arrangements. Choosing the right service helps an executive assistant or traveler set a realistic schedule and review the right price.
Choose point-to-point for a defined transfer
A point-to-point trip takes you from a confirmed pickup to a confirmed destination. It fits a hotel-to-office journey, a ride home after an event, or another transfer with a clear end. For a commercial flight, select the airport arrival or airport departure option in our booking form so the relevant flight and pickup details are included.
A transfer does not automatically reserve the same chauffeur for the rest of your day. If you have a long meeting and only need another ride when it ends, separate outbound and return trips may suit the plan. Give each trip its own pickup time and address, and review availability and confirmation for both.
Choose hourly service when the chauffeur needs to stay available
Hourly chauffeur service reserves a continuous block of time for your itinerary. It can suit several office visits, a roadshow, a client lunch between meetings, or a day with stops whose departure times may shift. Waiting between stops remains part of the reserved time.
Stops within an hourly itinerary do not carry a separate stop fee. The time spent driving, waiting and moving between appointments still needs to fit the reservation. A later finish or a substantial route change should be discussed with the operator; extra time and continued availability should not be assumed.
Compare two realistic meeting-day plans
One office, one long meeting: You leave a Walnut Creek hotel for an office, spend most of the day inside, and return at a fixed time. Two separately arranged transfers may be a practical choice if you do not need a vehicle during the meeting. Compare the two confirmed trip prices with an hourly reservation before deciding.
Several appointments: You leave an East Bay hotel, meet a client, travel to a second office, stop for lunch and finish at another address. Hourly service can keep the transportation coordinated across the reserved period. Share every address and appointment time rather than booking only the first and last locations.
Example: A 9 a.m. pickup with a requested 3 p.m. final drop-off is a six-hour itinerary. The meetings, driving, lunch and waiting all fall inside those six hours. That is an elapsed-time example, not a six-hour flat-price promise: the booking calculation also accounts for applicable time allowances and charges.
How the minimum and billable time work
Hourly bookings currently start at a three-hour minimum; review the minimum displayed for the selected vehicle in the booking form. Reserve the hours needed for the complete itinerary, including time between meetings.
The hourly calculation includes a 30-minute inspection allowance and applicable travel from our Concord garage to pickup and from the final drop-off back to the garage. Each garage leg of 30 minutes or less is free. A longer garage leg is charged in full, rather than only for the minutes over 30. Chargeable garage travel is rounded up to 15-minute increments in the calculation.
Use the live booking form to compare your actual options. The vehicle, date, pickup time and itinerary affect the total, and tolls, parking or other applicable items may affect the final price. Avoid comparing an advertised hourly number with a complete transfer quote without checking what each includes.
What an executive assistant should include
- The passenger's name and a mobile number that will work during the trip.
- The exact pickup entrance, meeting addresses and final destination.
- Appointment start and expected finish times, including any firm arrival deadlines.
- Passenger count, suitcase count, oversized items and any requested child seats.
- Building access instructions, host contact details when appropriate, and who can approve itinerary changes.
- Flight details if the day begins or ends at an airport.
Keep road travel separate from the time reserved for each meeting. A meeting finishing at noon does not allow a noon appointment across town. Leave room for loading, reaching the pickup point and traffic, and identify the appointments that cannot move.
Match the vehicle to the passengers and luggage
The Mercedes S-Class accommodates up to three passengers. The Cadillac Escalade ESV and Lincoln Navigator accommodate up to six. Luggage space depends on bag size and passenger count, so include equipment and large cases when comparing the SUV and sedan options.
If several passengers join or leave during the day, include the largest number who will be in the vehicle together. Send the sequence of stops so the vehicle choice and itinerary can be checked together.
Review the trip, then book
Explore our corporate transportation service, choose the appropriate trip type, and review the details and current price before payment. Payment does not itself confirm the reservation; operator confirmation follows separately.
