SFO Pickup to the East Bay: Curbside, Meet & Greet, Luggage and Waiting Time
Make the airport meeting point part of your plan
A smooth ride from SFO to Walnut Creek, Concord or another East Bay destination starts before you land. Choose the pickup option you want, provide the correct flight number and make sure your chauffeur can reach you on arrival. Your terminal, luggage and pickup preference all affect where and when you meet.
Curbside pickup: coordinate when you are ready
For a curbside reservation, communicate with your chauffeur after landing and follow the meeting instructions for your terminal. Collect checked bags and complete any required arrival formalities before confirming that you are ready to walk to the pickup point.
SFO's ground transportation guidance states that terminal curbs are for active pickup and drop-off; vehicles cannot wait there. Your chauffeur may need to approach once you are ready. Share the terminal and the door or location specified in the instructions, and stay in contact if that changes.
Use the instructions for your confirmed Black Car Booking reservation. The airport has different arrangements for different transportation services, so a pickup location shown for a separate ride-hailing app may not be your meeting point. If the instructions are unclear, contact the chauffeur before walking to another terminal or garage.
Inside-terminal meet-and-greet: request it in advance
If you prefer to meet inside, request the meet-and-greet option when booking. Black Car Booking offers an arranged baggage-claim meeting and luggage assistance. Confirm the specific public meeting point with your chauffeur; this is not a meeting at the aircraft gate.
Review the applicable meet-and-greet charge before payment. Parking and other applicable trip charges may affect the total. For international arrivals, allow time for any required immigration, baggage collection and customs procedures before reaching the public arrivals area.
Meet-and-greet may be a useful preference for a first visit, several bags or a traveler who wants help finding the vehicle. Include assistance needs in the request so the arrangement can be checked before the trip is confirmed.
Flight tracking and included waiting time
We monitor the incoming flight and adjust chauffeur dispatch for early arrivals and delays. Enter the correct airline, flight number and arrival date when booking; a flight number by itself is not enough to identify the correct day's journey.
- Domestic arrivals: 30 minutes of waiting is included after the recorded flight arrival.
- International arrivals: 60 minutes of waiting is included after the recorded flight arrival.
The waiting allowance is measured from the recorded flight arrival, not from the moment you collect your bags. Waiting beyond the included allowance may affect the final price. Message your chauffeur promptly if baggage collection, immigration or another delay means you will need more time.
If you are rebooked onto another flight, send the new flight details. Flight tracking should not be treated as a substitute for telling us that your itinerary has changed. See our SFO black car service page for the current pickup and waiting information.
Choose a vehicle for people and bags together
Use the passenger and luggage fields when requesting the trip, and describe anything unusually large. The current fleet guidance is:
- Cadillac Escalade ESV: up to six passengers and approximately four to six suitcases.
- Lincoln Navigator: up to six passengers and approximately four to six suitcases.
- Mercedes S-Class: up to three passengers and approximately two to three suitcases.
These are planning capacities, not a guarantee that every combination of passengers and bags will fit. Suitcase dimensions, strollers, golf bags, mobility equipment and child seats affect usable space. Send those details so suitability can be confirmed, and compare the vehicle options before booking.
Give an exact East Bay destination
For the journey to Concord, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Alamo or Danville, use the complete street address. Add the hotel entrance, office building or other arrival instructions when the destination has several access points.
Include intermediate stops and separate passenger drop-offs in the request. They can change both timing and price. If you need the chauffeur to remain available for meetings after the airport transfer, compare an hourly itinerary with a transfer ending at the first destination.
Road conditions and the final address affect the journey. Leave a buffer before a meeting, dinner or other fixed appointment rather than treating the flight's landing time as the start of a guaranteed drive time. Explore our SFO and East Bay service information for the areas we serve.
A short arrival checklist
- Before travel, check the arrival date, flight, passenger count, bags, pickup option and destination in your reservation.
- After landing, turn on the phone number supplied with the booking and check for chauffeur instructions.
- Collect luggage and complete required arrival procedures; tell the chauffeur about delays.
- Confirm the meeting point and readiness, then follow the agreed pickup instructions.
Review your price and confirmation
Enter your airport trip online to choose an available vehicle and review the current price and applicable fees. Tolls, airport fees, parking, additional waiting, stops and itinerary changes may affect the total. A payment receipt does not confirm the reservation; operator confirmation follows separately.
Please book at least 12 hours ahead. For urgent availability, text 415-723-1222 with your flight, arrival date, destination and group details. Planning the opposite direction? Read our Concord and Walnut Creek departure-time guide before choosing your pickup time.
